    Position Summary...

    What you'll do...

    Business intelligence developers (BIDs) create analytics content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. The BID is responsible for all aspects of analytics solution delivery.

    The scope of their responsibility ranges from understanding and documenting the needs of data consumers to creating, testing, and delivering SQL-based and non-SQL-based solutions to meet those needs.

    This BID role will specialize in Revenue Cycle Management but may take on other areas as time allows and the need arises.

    The BID will own consumer communication and content development.

    You'll sweep us off our feet if you:
    Have at least 10+ years of experience in Epic, specifically Revenue Cycle Management in the Ambulatory space.

    Comprehensive understanding of data analysis, reporting, proficient in Cogito SQL, Reporting WorkBench, SlicerDicer, Radar Dashboards, and PowerBIProven experience in translating business requirements into innovative data solutions that drive growth and leveraging data to inform business strategy and process design.

    Strong collaboration skills, adept at working in a team-focused environment and liaising with various organizational departments to meet their data needs.

    Experienced in maintaining data integrity through regular quality checks, troubleshooting data-related issues, and providing timely resolutions.


    What you'll bring:
    Data Source Identification
    :
    Ideal BID candidate is well-versed in end-user workflows, as well as domain-specific operational concepts. Requires knowledge of Functional business domain and scenarios; Categories of data and where it is held; Business data requirements; Database technologies and distributed datastores (e.g. SQL, NoSQL); Data Quality. Help identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data.
    Tech. Problem Formulation
    :
    Ideally, BIDs design and create analytics solutions based on an in-depth knowledge of operational system usage. This level of knowledge requires a deep understanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of use.

    The best BIDs have both the technical skills required to design and write reports and the operational knowledge to help them understand what report consumers need to see.


    Advanced Analytics Techniques:


    Proficiency in applying advanced analytics and statistical techniques, including regression analysis, time series forecasting, machine learning algorithms, and optimization models, to solve complex business problems.

    Understanding Business Context
    :
    The BID should be familiar with Epic applications and database structures. Understand the Epic data models. The BID must have the ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment.


    For financial reporting:
    Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not required


    For clinical reporting:
    Prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable, but not required.
    Data Visualization
    :

    Experience shadowing end users to gain an understanding of user workflows and how to present the data users need in a meaningful and useful way.

    Requires knowledge of Visualization guidelines and best practices for complex data types; Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications (Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer data models, Radar dashboards, Cogito SQL); Generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes.

    Understand customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for complex data sets. Build compelling stories based on context to integrate multiple pieces of information into cohesive insights.

    Present to and influence diverse audiences using the appropriate data visualization frameworks and conveys clear messages through deep business and stakeholder understanding.

    Customize communication style based on stakeholders and leverages relationships to drive behavioral change. Guide and mentor junior associates on story types, structures, and techniques based on context.
    Data Analysis
    :

    Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer data models, Radar dashboards, Cogito SQL.

    Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle. Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics. Modifying existing reports, as necessary. Distributing analytics content to data consumers. Reviewing peer reports for validity. Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records. Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments. Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Clarity and Caboodle features and determining how to implement the changes.

    BIDs might also be responsible for building and maintaining:

    Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, Third-party BI tools, Custom Epic data in Caboodle).

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.


    Option 2:

    Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.


    Option 3:
    6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
