Metallurgical EngineerMetallurgical Engineer, Kennecott Utah Copper LLC, Bingham Canyon, UT:
Provides technical, data-based, solutions to issues encountered in the concentrator related to safety, throughput, recovery, and concentrate quality as well as report on concentrator production and provide information as required. Supports the operations team in the concentrator by identifying and defining operational changes to improve quantity and quality of the copper concentrate production. Works with vendors to source chemical and physical solutions to concentrator issues and lead the trials and statistical analysis of those solutions. Facilitates rapid problem solving (RPS), and root cause analysis (RCA) for issues encountered in the concentrator and facilitates the completion of the action's resultant from those activities. Verifies proper safety precautions are in place for maintenance and operational tasks. Supports the concentrator in month-end reconciliation and reporting responsibilities.
Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day a week.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field, and 2 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in a mineral processing plant.
Of the required experience, must have at least 2 years of experience in each of the following:
