    JOB SUMMARY The Senior Information Operations Data Scientist provides support to the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) G-3/5/7 DAMO-SOI.

    RESPONSIBILITIES Support DAMO-SOI efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and natural language processes (NLP) into existing and developing Army capabilities in the context of enabling the Army forces to consolidate, contextualize, and leverage information at scale and at speed in support of operations.

    Liaison with Army, Joint, and DoD AI/ML capability development organizations to represent the DAMO-SOI portfolios including Operational Security, Information Advantage Misinformation/Disinformation (M/D), Joint Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), Publicly Available Information (PAI), Technical Effects, and Data for influence.

    Prepare briefings, information/decision papers, policy documents, staffing packages, EXORDs, memorandums, SITREPs and official multimedia correspondence related to DAMO-SOI.

    Participate in DoD, Joint, and Army projects, studies, and working groups within the DAMO-SOI portfolio including Joint Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), Operational Security, Information Advantage, Misinformation/Disinformation (M/D), Publicly Available Information (PAI), Technical Effects, and Data for influence.

    Assist DAMO-SOI in PPBE processes including acquisitions, resourcing, and overall Pentagon processes.

    Assist DAMO-SOI in researching inquiries from Congress and other higher authorities and provide draft responses regarding any aspect of the DAMO-SOI portfolio.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Provide SME-level expertise in development and application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and natural language processes (NLP) in the context of developing information based capabilities for Army forces.

    Ability to characterize the potential and limitations of how AI and ML can be used to manipulate outcomes against and in favor of Army forces and develop recommendations countermeasures to reduce susceptibility to that manipulation.

    Participates in the Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process and can drive initiatives through the Army's PPBE process.

    Support AI/ML/DS needs submitted by Army commands through refinement of requirements and development of resourcing and policy solutions.

    Ability to work and lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change.

    Ability to translate complex technical problems sets and condense for executive level decision. Ability to write, brief and plan for a DoD GO/SES level audience.

    Familiarity with unsupervised, semi-supervised, and supervised learning algorithms (and when it is appropriate to use each), as well as with feature selection, feature extraction (a plus), and common hyper-optimization techniques with different AI models.

    Knowledge and experience of deep learning architectures with high level of experience and capabilities with Python and R, with strong skills in Python Numpy, Pandas, and keras (tensorflow or pytorch is a plus).

    Ability to identify and deploy novel solutions to support Army IA stakeholder requirements.
    Familiarity with HQDA processes and systems. Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Adobe suites of tools
    Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Attention to detail.
    Familiarity with the military decision-making process
    Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment.
    Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet short suspense deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to travel in support of DAMO-SOC requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications include:

    Master's Degree with 10+ years' experience or BS and 12+ years of experience statistics, mathematics, computer science, or other relevant quantitative field Experience with Service IA implementation and Information Operations, Cyberspace, Public Affairs and Psychological Operations (MISO) execution.

    Implementing and updating machine learning algorithms and neural networks in production settings.
    Experience with Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) application in support of synthetic image, video and voice generation.
    Demonstrated experience of four (4) years in creating machine and deep learning applications.
    Knowledge and experience of deep learning architectures with high level of experience and capabilities with Python and R, with strong skills in Python Numpy, Pandas, and keras


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with TensorFlow or Pytorch. Four years of experience supporting operations at the HQDA level or higher Experience and knowledge of military documentation process.
    Familiarity with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
    Familiarity with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Executing (PPBE) process.

    Familiarity with the structure and functions of OSD, Joint Staff, HQDA, Combatant Commands, Army Service Component Commands (ASCCs), Combined Arms Command (CAC), and Army-Futures Command (AFC).
