    Job Summary:

    The EMS Lieutenant has the main responsibility of an EMT/Paramedic and also takes on tasks of the Lieutenant position, reporting to the Shift Captain with oversight from the Division Manager. When necessary, the Lieutenant acts as Shift Captain assuming additional duties.

    Compensation: The Lieutenant will receive an hourly wage.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the operational hub meets and maintains AISB standards.
    • Organize, manage, and monitor station supplies (medical and office) submitting monthly needs to the Shift Captain.
    • Maintain inventory of supplies in a well-organized storage room.
    • Develop and oversee a daily station duties roster to keep common areas clean, organized, and with adequate space for business operations.
    • Ensure all areas for mechanical repairs are clean, organized, and compliant with AISB standards.
    • Collaborate with Shift Captain and Division Manager to implement new policies for operational hubs.
    • Assist in onboarding new locations in the service area.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Work independently to achieve defined goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain a strong commitment to providing outstanding services and customer-focused approach.
    • Possess negotiation skills, flexibility, and innovation to adapt to changing needs.
    • Keep Shift Captain informed on group activities and project progress.
    • Coordinate departmental employees for efficiency improvement.
    • Promote collaboration among individuals and facilitate conflict resolution.
    • Handle paperwork for transported patients.
    • Attend training sessions to stay updated on industry developments.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Comply with all statutes, rules, and regulations related to certification and Emergency Medical Services.
    • Shift focus based on changing priorities.
    • Communicate effectively to produce desired outcomes.
    • Analyze risks and benefits of approaches to make informed decisions.
    • Identify potential strategic alliances.
    • Monitor progress continuously and adjust strategies when needed.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Critical Thinking to solve problems effectively.

    Education and Experience:

    • Must hold a valid State EMS License at EMT, EMT-I, AEMT, or Paramedic level.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License with a compliant driving record.
    • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred or equivalent experience in ambulance services.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and function in a fast-paced environment.
    • Able to operate in varying environments including indoors and outdoors.
    • Proficient use of technical tools and equipment related to the job.
