    Description

    Position Overview:

    A Data Visualization Developer is part of the Enterprise Digital Intelligence (Edi) team and is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and enhancements of high value enterprise analytics solutions within a cloud environment. This role requires advanced knowledge of data visualization techniques and applicability to business problems as well as data analysis and modeling. The Data Visualization Developer will partner closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Business Owners to ensure solutions allow for interactivity and communicate insights in efficient manner to support business decisions.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Understand data visualization techniques and libraries and their applicability to business problems; communicate options for visualizations and what each will provide with other EDI team members, leadership, and business owners
    • Engage with EDI team members and other business stakeholders to design, develop, and test interactive and complex data visualization solutions (i.e. reports, dashboards), which utilize the underlying data to effectively share quantitative and qualitative insights across the enterprise
    • Refine data visualization solutions based on stakeholder feedback
    • Proactively identify and address issues with current visualizations and reports, ensuring continuity of accuracy and functionality
    • Deploy data visualizations and models into production within a cloud environment
    • Optimize performance of dashboards within a cloud environment
    • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights within large data sets
    • Explain analytics model behavior/results in the vernacular of business to business owners and other stakeholders
    • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Developers, Designers, IT Systems & Software Admins, and others to solution for business needs
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Technology, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a similar quantitative analytics field
    • 4+ years of experience designing and building advanced data visualizations with an understanding of the appropriate visualizations to use to highlight patterns in the data
    • 4+ years of experience using Tableau and other data visualization tools (i.e. QuickSight, Power BI) creating dashboards, reports, and front-end visualizations
    • 4+ years of data modeling experience
    • Advanced skills in quantifying, tabulating and analyzing large, complex volumes of data to transform the data into actionable insights
    • Advanced experience & familiarity with Linux system & AWS platform
    • Strong experience with Python and R programming and
    • Strong experience with custom data visualization frameworks
    • Knowledge of various API's exposed from third party vendors to Tableau or QuickSight
    • Experience in developing and deploying custom themes for the visualizations
    • Highly organized and able to prioritize and process multiple complex projects, deadlines, and processes with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong analytical abilities; both technical and functional - Ability to deal with complex functional specifications and determine how to best implement them technically
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

    • Knowledge of data science & machine learning

    Workplace Environment:

    • Sitting 90-95% and standing 5-10% which is determined on your rotation within the branch
    • Working at a computer 98% of the day, utilizing the phone 10-20%
    • Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
    • Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
    • Lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately 30 pounds
    • Requires onsite presence based on coordination of work with other employees and/or departments. May require travel to attend on-site meetings/events for collaboration, connection, project work, All-Employee Day, etc.

    Required Work Schedule:

    Standard Monday through Friday business hours with a willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed. This position can be based remotely, but will require travel to St. Paul, MN approximately 4-6 times/year for meetings and company events.

    May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support. Consistent and reliable attendance is a required essential function of this role to meet the needs of the department/team and organization.
