    Description


    Fund AccountantExcellent growing company in the real estate private equity sector is looking to fill a key role in accounting.

    The right person will learn from a team of successful leaders who also have great mentorship. The right person will also have visibility with Executives within the organization.

    The position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of assigned funds as well as Joint Venture deals that roll up into the fund.

    Some cash controls for the bank accounts associated with these funds.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and cash flow projections for assigned funds.
    Perform daily activities such as daily cash entries, review and post draws, and perform bank reconciliations.
    Create, reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts. Prepare reconciliations to support balances.

    Provide accurate and timely financial information to other internal departments such as Investments and Asset Management,Prepare contribution and distribution calculations, summaries and notices as needed.

    Prepare quarterly management fee calculations, journal entries, and amortization schedules.
    Provide information for and take part in Q&A for audits, tax preparation at year end.

    Work with management to refine internal processes to help increase efficiencies, reduce possibility of operational errors and scale systems for growth.

    Ad hoc projects including system implementation and departmental integration.


    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ABILIITIES:
    Work overtime as needed and with short notice (for time sensitive requests).Team player. Will be assisting and support for Assistant ControllersSelf-starter; eager to learn and grow with the department.
    Strong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

    High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

    Outstanding organization, prioritization, and keen attention to detailEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    (including certification, licenses, etc.)Bachelor's degree in accounting.3-5 years experience prior public accounting and fund accounting experience.
    Understanding of real estate fundamentals, investment accounting transactions and consolidations a must.


    TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
    Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting and Fund Accounting.
