    Job DescriptionPosition Summary

    WSH Management is currently recruiting for an Activity Coordinator for our 196-unit senior high rise senior apartment community near Western Avenue and W. Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles.

    This is a full time position, 40 hours per week.

    Job Duties

    The Activity Coordinator maintains an organized, sanitary program environment, and ensure that daily supplies for programs and activities are maintained and organized. Initiates and plan the monthly calendar in conjunction with the Property Manager, as well as communicating effectively with the Social service Coordinator to initiate daily programs and activities.

    • Responsible for all property activities to include Bingo, Arts and Crafts, chair exercises, monthly luncheons, community workshops on health, finance or other are provided to generate resident involvement in the community as well as self-enrichment.
    • Market and recruit residents to participate in the activities, programs, and services offered by WSH Management and other service providers.
    • Assist with maintaining compliance with all applicable Affordable Housing programs.

    Qualifications

    While we are proud to offer on-the-job training for all positions, we prefer you to start with the following experience:

    • A minimum six months experience in senior activities or apartment activities experience or a combination of accounting skills/education with customer service experience is preferred.
    • Proven effectiveness in program design, implementation, and management of monthly activity planning, including execution of events.
    • The ability to effectively relate and interact with people of diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Must possess strong attention to detail and sales ability.
    • Experience working with senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, in conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
    • Demonstrate an ability to support and contribute to community team and strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Competence in operation of telephone, business calculator, copy machine, facsimile, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and MS Outlook and community software.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain current auto insurance. Have own transportation. (Mileage reimbursed based on Federal mileage rates.)
    • Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management).

    Compensation

    • Base Pay Start Rate: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour.
