    High Point University's Admissions department is seeking a Director of Recruitment. This position serves as a member of the Admissions Leadership Team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Director of Recruitment is responsible for effectively managing recruitment strategies while leading, coaching, and supervising a team of individuals who manage teams with geographic territories; utilizing, assist in developing and executing a strategic plan to assist in the recruitment process; and representing High Point University during on and off-campus events. The Director of Recruitment is tasked with responsibilities including application review, admissions committee leadership, and pre-enrollment assistance for students and parents, publications, and media support, off campus programming (school and community outreach), and enrollment planning. The Director must demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills while being goal and outcome-oriented with excellent relationship-building skills.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • Master's degree preferred.

    Experience and Training

    • Minimum 6 years of progressive leadership experience in university admissions with a proven track record
    • Experience managing and leading Admissions professionals in other territories across the country.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manage and motivate a team of Associate Directors who oversee domestic recruitment.
    • Manage Undergraduate Admissions Travel and Conference budget line (approximately $500,000 per year).
    • Indirectly lead a group of counselors in development of their strategic recruitment plans; monitor, counsel and motivate performance toward achieving goals; leas team in planning and execution of daily priorities, tasks, and events.
    • Supports creation of strategic plans for attracting students with the right academic qualifications, from target high schools in assigned territory.
    • Guide team of Associate Directors in development of their leadership skills in helping to develop them into stronger leaders.
    • Ensure an effective recruitment team performs at its highest level and assists that team in developing and executing an annual plan to ensure enrollment targets are met.
    • Consistently assess domestic recruitment team and coordinate training and support to provide personal and professional development.
    • Support and provide feedback when needed in areas of opportunity with sales skills, presentation skills and post-tour meeting plan and delivery making sure that the admissions team is knowledgeable in all areas and aspects of the university.
    • Support, guide, and mentor team members overseeing special projects within the office such has but not limited to Junior Scholars, Counselor Open House, Book Awards, Accepted Student Receptions, and Inquiry Receptions.
    • Recommend and assist in setting goals for assigned territory in regard to inquiries, applications, campus visitors, accepted students, and enrolled students.
    • Ensure an effective recruitment team performs at its highest level and assists that team in developing and executing an annual plan to ensure enrollment targets are met.
    • Make travel arrangements and manage travel schedule as needed to visit target schools within travel budget when needed.
    • Give effective presentations at on campus events, for daily campus visits, at high schools, and other locations across the country.
    • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work weekends.
    • Supports evaluation with the Admissions Committee
    • Uses technical resources and predictive modeling to make informed decisions about student's applications and outreach.
    • Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students' parents, faculty, co-workers, and managers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    ACCOUNTABILITY

    • Contributes to the development and achievement of HPU's recruitment objectives.
    • Facilitates effective and efficient review of all applications for admission.
