    Job Description:

    Hiscox USA is searching for a dynamic and passionate Operational Billing Analyst to join the Service Delivery team for Hiscox USA's digital retail (Direct & Partnership Distribution) channel. The Billing Analyst will manage and monitor billing operational processes to ensure optimal performance and will identify and initiate changes to those processes as opportunities arise or emerging issues dictate. The Operations Business Analyst will report to the Head of Service Delivery, and will work with stakeholders across Underwriting, Partnerships, Claims, Operations, IT, and Finance.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in all transactions that have Billing implications within our policy administration and billing (One Shield) platform.
      • Provide guidance and insights on issues and risks as well as solutions to work around problems.
      • Partner with IT, Operations, and Finance to regarding requirements, defects and optimization of billing transactions
      • Manage daily billing operations, and related billing tasks, ensuring efficient and accurate operation of the billing functions. This will include process for failed payments.
      • Identify defects and submit JIRA tickets so that the matter can be corrected in OneShield. Determine how to remediate the effect of the defect for customers affected.
      • Analyze recurring issues and assist in developing process and system improvements.
    • Maintain current and complete procedures/guidelines for billing processes.
    These will include:
    • Escalation of Payment Disputes from Direct Policyholders
    • Timely reconciliation of Sales & Collections posted to Magic and payment systems.
    • Daily reporting and review of third-party payment processing activity
    • Participate in initiatives that will automate some of the above-named procedures, either as part of independent projects or as part of our transition to OneShield.
    • Develop appropriate levels of knowledge of the existing policy administrative systems (MAGIC/ezCLM) and supporting systems, as well as act as an SME for key processes leveraging those systems.
    • Use data from multiple sources to create accurate and complete analyses to support performance of the above.
    Person Specification:
    • 2+ years of operational analysis and process improvement experience. Must have demonstrated skills in mastering operational process knowledge/systems and formulating strategies to drive improvements.
    • Experience in FinTech/Insurance billing operations a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree, with experience and knowledge of insurance products/processes preferred, and basic accounting knowledge.
    • Critical thinker with data-analyses skills. Proficient in Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), with experience using data-query skills (Nexus, other);
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
    • Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and results driven. Able to multi-task and be flexible to handle multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Experience working as part of a team delivering complex multi-faceted projects.

    Salary Range $65,000 - $75,000
