Retail Sales Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pool & Spa Retail Store Manager to lead daily retail operations, drive sales performance, and develop a high-performing team. This role is responsible for developing new customers, overseeing customer experience, merchandising, inventory control, staff development, and operational excellence within a fast-paced specialty retail environment. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and sales skills with deep knowledge of pool and spa products, water care, and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of retail store operations, including sales, staffing, and merchandising
- Recruit, train, coach, and motivate retail associates to achieve performance goals
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through expert product knowledge and service standards
- Monitor and drive KPIs including sales revenue, margins, conversion rates, and average ticket
- Oversee inventory levels, product ordering, stock rotation, and shrink control
- Ensure accurate water testing procedures and chemical recommendations
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom standards
- Collaborate with service, installation, and operations teams to support overall company growth
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve escalated issues
- Ensure compliance with safety, cash handling, and company policies
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail management experience
- Proven ability to lead a team, drive sales performance, and manage retail operations
- Strong understanding of product line, which includes hot tubs, above ground pools, chemicals, and pool equipment/accessories.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with POS systems, retail reporting, and inventory management
- Retail hours include Saturday peak season hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in pool and spa retail or specialty home improvement retail
- Experience with water testing software and chemical sales programs
- Sales coaching or team performance management experience
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) or equivalent industry training
