    The Books shopping Experience team plays a key role in making this vision happen by providing shopping experiences that helps customers discover their next book to read.

    Customers shop for Kindle books from a variety of surfaces including desktops/laptops, Kindle E-ink devices, Fire Tablets and mobile browser on their phones and tablets.

    We provide shopping experiences for customers no matter where they are and what device they have.

    Our org needs a meticulous Quality Assurance Manager to oversee every aspect of our books shopping platform, ensuring top-notch functionality, usability, automation and reliability.

    With a passion for both books and perfection, QAM will lead dedicated team in safeguarding our platform quality, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering continuous improvement.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Manage a team of quality engineering professionals (QAEs and SDETs) to ensure highest quality product delivery.
    • Partner with engineering manager peers and stakeholders to deliver the highest quality experience for our customers.
    • Own the longterm vision of how to drive quality, automation, tools across multiple engineering teams across books shopping organization
    • Bring your technical expertise to advocate the the right level of tests (e.g. UI, unit, functional, load, manual vs automated).
    • Introduce industry testing best practices and methods for the organization, and use this knowledge to predict and prevent problems with quality.
    • Define and drive multiyear strategic QA vision and automation initiatives.
    • Be responsible for development of automation test strategies and creation of appropriate test frameworks.
    • Oversee the development and execution of test automation and monitoring and reporting on test automation progress.
    • Take part in hiring and developing a Team of engineers

    Basic Qualifications

    • 3+ years of quality assurance teams management experience
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Demonstrated experience in test planning, test design, test strategy, and test execution of highly complex systems.
    • Experience in people management, performance management and supervision
    • Experience in leading and facilitating design discussion of Test Automation frameworks and tools Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
    • Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements.
    • Experience communicating crossfunctionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings to report on test progress, metrics, issues, and risks.
    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field

    • Deep handson technical expertise.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong business and technical vision.
    • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
    • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to define and present metrics that help illuminate our quality and quality goals.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $228,100/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
