    Job Title: Lead Data Scientist

    Contract: Contract (8+ Months)- Possibility to an extension OR hired as FTE

    Organizational Structure And Impact:

    Describe the function your group supports from an LOB perspective:

    Internal Audit testing of adherence to the Model Risk Management program. Testing covers both first line of defence (model owner, model developer, etc.) adherence to the Model Lifecycle Procedure and second line of defense (Model Risk Management Group) model risk program oversight and review/testing/validation of first line of defence model risk management activities. The quant role performs independent assessment of the statistical soundness of model methodologies, assumptions, risks and limitations of client's entire model inventory to support the audit teams.

    Candidate Technical and skills profile:
    • Performs complex quantitative analyses and models development to support decision-making by running quantitative strategies.
    • Develops new model frameworks by supporting the line of business. Refines, monitors, and validates existing models. Conducts on-going communication with model owners and model developers during the course of the review. Works with large data to create models.
    • Performs advanced qualitative and quantitative assessments on all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design and implementation as well as data quality and integrity. Reviews reports and associated quantitative analysis. Validates existing models and assesses model risks.
    • Evaluates identified model risks and reaches conclusions on strengths and limitations of the model.
    • Prepares and analyses detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance, using applicable templates.
    Required must have technical skills, tools, or experience:
    • Prior modelling experience preferred, modelling analytics experience (one to three years' experience in financial services modelling preferred or advanced degree), some familiarity with regulations such as OCC and FR 11-7, fair lending and/or other financial services experience
    Preferred or nice to have skills:
    • Excellent written and/or oral communication skills; firsthand experience in model development, model monitoring, model risk management program governance and oversight, and/or model risk testing.
    Skills Match:

    Preferred:
    • Modelling analytics experience
    • 1-3 years' experience in financial services modelling or advanced degree
    • Some familiarity with regulations such as OCC and FR 11-7
    • Fair lending and/or other financial services experience
