- Orientation: Serves aslead liaison with Office of Orientation and Transition Programs and coordinatesCNHP involvement in Orientation events. Collaborate with relevant officesto ensure efficient and accurate transfer credit posting. Oversee newstudent academic advising and registration. Continuously assess andimprove processes related to advisement and registration for incomingstudents.
- Advising: Maintain reducedcaseload of students for academic advisement.
- Operations: Supervise AcademicAdvising efforts, including developing & implementing protocol forefficient office operations and quality academic advisement. Conductcontinuous evaluation and improvement of advisement operations throughassessment (e.g., student advisement experience, utilization of services,& quality advising documentation). Assist Dean in managing theday-to-day operation of Academic Advisement including staff hiring,onboarding, and scheduling.
- Outreach: Pursueup-to-date knowledge of policy and curriculum changes at all levels anddisseminate CNHP and general advisement updates to stakeholders throughsupervision of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and attendance at CollegeCurriculum Committee meetings. Disseminate updates to advisement staff andplan related professional development as needed. Coordinate CollegeAcademic Advisement representation for events and presentations withcampus partners. Develop and coordinate routine communication templatesfor academic advisers and other staff to use with students.
- Advisor Assignment: Collaboratewith Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and academic advisors to ensureall incoming students are promptly assigned advisors in SOAR. Manage academicadvisor caseloads with regard to balanced workload distribution.Coordinate advisor assignments during transitions such as student major changeand staff leave. Lead regular team advisement team meetings.
- Program ApplicationProcess: Assist programs with application process as appropriate, whichmay include collecting, evaluating, and collating applications inpreparation for programmatic review.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus partners in coordinating academic advisement efforts and carrying out retention initiatives.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts for budgetary and expense reporting.
- Ability to train, advise, oversee, and mentor student workers and graduate assistants.
- Ability to work occasional evening events or overnight travel related to the execution of office initiatives.

Job Summary
Reporting tothe Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Academic Advisement Coordinator isa key member of the Dean's Office team and manages crucial aspects of academicadvisement of incoming students and office operations by coordinating approachesfor the holistic advisement and transition of incoming first year, incomingtransfer, and continuing student populations as well as program applicationprocesses within the CNHP.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Bachelor'sdegree in higher education, counseling, or related fieldfrom an accredited college or university and two years' experience as academicadvisor in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in supervision or mentorship ofprofessional staff. Clear commitment to fostering student persistence. Demonstratedexperience working with diverse student populations in a higher educationenvironment. Extensive experience with relevant technology (Peoplesoft/SOAR,Microsoft 365, Zoom, Maxient, Mongoose, Dropout Detective, MyMajors, etc.). Dataanalysis and statistical skills relevant to assessment practices.
