    Sentara Health is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, in Woodbridge, VA


    Status:
    Part Time (32 hours)


    Work hours:
    Rotating shift and will work ANY of the following shifts per week below:

    Weekdays

    Will work at least 2 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) per 6 weeks pay period

    Weekends

    Full time and part time clinical pharmacists also work on assigned holidays, based on Sentara holiday schedules. This is rotated on a yearly basis.

    Full time and part time pharmacists also take turns to cover night shifts when the night shift pharmacists are on PAL


    Night shift hours:

    Job responsibilities:
    Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards. Maintains current knowledge of drug use through continuing education. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital. Assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders. Precepts pharmacy students as assigned.

    BLS required within six months of hire


    Please note:
    Clinical Pharmacists working in Sentara Rx are excluded from the BLS requirement. Will consider new graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not licensed in Virginia/NC due to relocation. Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date.


    Required qualifications:

    • Virginia Pharmacist license REQUIRED
    • BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree REQUIRED
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) REQUIRED within 6 months of hire
    • Will consider new graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not licensed in Virginia/NC due to relocation. Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Prior hospital experience strongly preferred.
