    Training Specialist Advisor

    1. Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of ASW/ASUW air control tactics and procedures for all Aegis baselines.
    2. Reviews and analyzes ASW/ASUW air tactics and procedures IAW U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical procedures. Integrates and conceptualizes the execution of operational and tactical procedures, optimizing the application of ship's Air Control capabilities and limitation in the dynamic ASW/ASUW operational tactical environment.
    3. Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to comply with approved operational and tactical procedures, and ships Battle Orders and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain tactical and procedural proficiency.
    4. Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 130 series.
    5. Prepares; reviews; and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.
    6. Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.
    7. Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
    8. Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers moderately complex ASW/ASUW training scenarios, training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.
    9. Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
    10. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
    11. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
    12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Seven (7) years of experience with the required system (ASW/ASUW) Air Assets as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) or supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable systems or function task to others in an advanced level training environment. Of the seven (7) years, Of the seven years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems including one (1) year relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives.

    Experience as a qualified Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) required and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/ATG is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Shift work maybe involved and travel may be required up to 10% of time.

    HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

    Develops; organizes; and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, Virginia.

    Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical classroom training.

    Candidate would serve as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) Instructor to train fleet ASTAC's in tactical employment of the Anti-Submarine Warfare/Anti-Surface Unit Warfare (ASW/ASUW) Air Assets to include the SH-60R and P-8 Poseidon Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA), Air frames.

    When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for ATRC/SCSTC courses supporting the operational employment of the ASW/ASUW assets available to the fleet.

    The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
