Role SummaryThe Mechanical Engineer role at MCSG resides within the Engineering department and reports to the Director of Engineering.

This role collaborates with members of the engineering, technical support, sales, and production teams to support sustaining engineering activities as well as new product development.

You'll work on interesting and challenging projects in support of our Synesso and Concordia lines of commercial espresso and bean to cup automated coffee machines.

RequirementsUse your expertise in mechanical engineering to support new product development, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives.

Use your hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment and machines both in our R&D lab and on the manufacturing line.

Be technically creative and motivated to explore design trade-offs in the development of electro-mechanical systems designs with demonstrated experience in component selection, system development and integration.

Be ready to take on an improved design or improve a current product.
See designs from inception to field implementation.
Create, review, and approve engineering CAD models and drawings.
Be ready for change and new challenges that arise.
Understand agency certification requirements [UL, NSF, ETL, CE, CB Scheme] and apply them to your work.

Use Engineering Change procedures to execute Engineering Change Requests (ECR).Create and maintain engineering information in ERP such as item masters, BOMs, and routes.

Maintain organized engineering data and project information.
Ability to be on-site at the location is required.
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.5-8 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with significant emphasis in design and fabrication of sheet metal, machining, injection molding plastics, tooling/castings, material selection, and coatings and finishes, including design to cost, and design for test and manufacturing.

Expert-level SolidWorks capability for design, analysis, and released documentation preparation.
Moderate Experience with SolidWorks PDM or equivalent file vault.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

ANSI drawing experience with a high-level understanding of tolerancing and GD&T.Capable of thermal, structural (static and dynamic), and flow analysis.

Experience with systems employing motion control, pressure, temperature, and positional sensors.
Skilled in problem definition, data collection and analysis, generating solid conclusions and recommendations.

Expert spreadsheet user and Database knowledge baseNice to have:
Team player, self-starter, owns their projects.

Electromechanical system design experienceERP (especially Infor/Syteline) knowledgeFamiliar with manufacturing systems including Kaizen, just in time, one piece flow, batch processingProject Management ExperienceLove of coffee and knowledge of the industryAbility to speak foreign languages.
