    The Director, Preceptor Recruitment and Clinical Affiliations is a key member of the Medical Education team at the Tilman J.

    Ferttita Family College of Medicine.

    In collaboration with senior leadership, this role is responsible for Voluntary/Preceptor Faculty Recruitment and management of clinical preceptors who play a vital role in shaping the education and training of medical students across each phase of the curriculum.


    Recruitment of Clinical Preceptors:
    a.

    In collaboration with senior leadership, including the Associate Dean for Medical Education, LIC director, department chairs, and clinical course directors, identify specific preceptor needs and recruit clinical preceptors from various healthcare specialties.b.

    Coordinate recruitment efforts with relevant departments to ensure alignment with curriculum requirements.c. In collaboration with the Office of Faculty Affairs, facilitate initiation, tracking and completion of faculty appointments for clinical preceptors.d.

    In collaboration with the Office of Faculty Development, facilitate connections to ongoing support and resources to preceptors to enhance their teaching and mentoring skills.

    Foster positive relationships with clinical site administrators, preceptors, and staff.a. Serve as a liaison between the medical school and affiliated institutions to address any issues or concerns.

    Affiliation Agreement Management:
    a. Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions to expand the pool of potential preceptors.b. Manage the process of establishing, tracking, and renewing affiliation agreements with clinical sites.c.

    Collaborate with legal and compliance departments to ensure that agreements comply with all relevant regulations and policies, including LCME accreditation requirements.d.

    Monitor and track agreement expiration dates and renewal requirements.

    Data Management and Reporting:
    a.

    In collaboration with the office of faculty affairs and clinical education leadership, maintain accurate records of preceptor credentials, affiliations, and agreements.b.

    Generate reports on preceptor recruitment, retention, and performance.c. Assist in data analysis to improve the effectiveness of the preceptor program.d. Collaborate with the medical education and quality assurance teams to assess and improve the effectiveness of preceptorship programs.

    Qualifications

    Masters and 5 years experience
    Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge.

    Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.


    Preferred:
    Master's degree in healthcare administration, education, or a related field (PhD or other relevant terminal degrees preferred)

    Experience:
    Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.


    Preferred:
    Experience in healthcare leadership, recruitment or medical education preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in data management and reporting. Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
