- Analyze cell test and metrology data to identify key trends.
- Use statistical and machine learning methods to better our cell designs and production techniques.
- Collaborate with engineers to turn data insights into practical solutions in person
- Work with the metrology team to improve data collection and measurement accuracy.
- Help integrate data analytics tools into our cell development operations.
- Communicate findings and suggest process improvements to stakeholders.
- Ensure the reliability of data through development to production.
- Keep up-to-date with data analysis methods applicable to battery technology.
- Experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning, especially in a development or manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of electrochemical systems
- Strong programming skills, especially in Python, with 3+ years of relevant experience. Experience with pandas, numpy, sci-kit learn, pytorch, and similar.
- Good at data visualization.
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or similar, with 5+ years in the field, or Master's with 3+ years.
- Strong team player with clear communication skills.
- A PhD in a relevant field is highly regarded.
- Background in battery data analysis, especially with lithium-ion or solid-state batteries.
- Familiar with database management and data processing.
- Comfortable working in various settings like dry rooms and labs.
- This position requires the candidate to physically be present at our offices in San Jose.

Senior Battery Scientist (SMTS), Cell Development at QuantumScape
Role Summary:
QuantumScape is looking for a Senior Battery Scientist to join our Cell Development team.
In this SMTS role, you will handle data from our cell tests and metrology to inform our next steps in process development and cell architecture design.
Your work will be central to interpreting data and implementing changes to improve our battery designs and manufacturing processes.Responsibilities:

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range for this role is $123,000-$173,000, but a salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background.
