    Summary:We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safety Manager to join our team and champion a culture of safety excellence within our paper plant. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and procedures to protect our employees, contractors, and visitors from workplace hazards.
    Responsibilities:
    • Leadership and Program Development:
      • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive safety program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
      • Lead the safety committee and actively engage employees in identifying and mitigating potential risks.
      • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address any hazards in the workplace.
      • Investigate safety incidents, develop corrective action plans, and implement preventative measures to prevent future occurrences.
      • Stay up-to-date on relevant safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring company compliance.
    • Training and Communication:
      • Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics like hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
      • Foster open communication about safety concerns and encourage employees to report unsafe conditions or practices.
      • Regularly communicate safety information and updates to keep all personnel informed.
    • Collaboration and Partnerships:
      • Work closely with operations management, production teams, and other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of the work process.
      • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and safety professionals, to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Safety Science, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the paper industry.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe (highly preferred).
    • Thorough understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant safety standards.
    • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage employees at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
