    The Assistant Coach/Aquatics Coordinator, will be responsible for assisting in the facilitating the growth and expansion of Aquatics and H&W programs. The position is based at th Street in Forest Hills, but candidates will be required to travel to additional locations that are presently operational as well as future sites.

    The Assistant Coach/Aquatics Coordinator will have administrative and coaching responsibilities while assisting the Director of Aquatics. The Assistant Coach/Aquatics Coordinator facilitates that attendees of the program have an enjoyable and educational experience. The Assistant Coach/ Aquatics coordinator will directly assist the Aquatics Director in the program registration, scheduling and staffing of the Aquatics programs. Candidates must represent Commonpoint Queens in a positive light at all times.
    REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Administrative:
    • Answer inquiring emails/ phone messages in a timely manner. Present inquiring members with appropriate programming options for them. Addresses questions effectively and appropriately with a knowledgeable and welcoming demeanor
    • Set-up registration/events on the back end and register participants on Salesforce, our registration platform.
    • Stay in direct communication with our Marketing department to highlight and publicize the many achievements of the Aquatics department.
    • Create and conduct participation feedback surveys, maintain metrics and data.
    • Address and submit refund/ credit inquiries.
    • Manage office by maintaining office supplies and order equipment for Aquatics classes.
    • Focus on inter-communication within all departments of Commonpoint Queens to seek out opportunities for partnership between various departments and the H&W department.
    • Upsell household memberships and any additional health and wellness packages or promotions.
    • Attend H&W/ Aquatics meetings to promote a positive work environment, teamwork and communication.
    • Use H&W meetings to brainstorm about expansion programs, scheduling, and and how to most effectively work within our budget
    • Supervise the H&W Department during assigned shifts.
    • Assist in the creation of staff schedules
    • Attend and participate in agency events and festivals to promote Aquatics and H &W.
    • Schedule interviews and repairs and submit invoices to finance.
    • Support clients or staff in the registration process for those who seek assistance
    FIELDREQUIREMENTS:
    • Coach 15-18 hours per week, assisting the head coach of the USA swim team.
    • Deck supervisor of swim classes on Friday and Saturday
    • Ensures that attendees of the program have an enjoyable and educational experience. Exuding approachability, friendliness, and inclusivity.
    • Overseeing the quality of classes while on deck and, if necessary, assist the instructor in leading participants
    • Evaluate and place students in appropriate swim levels and activities during the class
    Assist the Aquatics Director in:
    • Mapping out appropriate class level recommendations.
    • Ensures aquatics area is clean, safe, and organized
    • Must be able to effectively correspond/ communicate/ understand maintenance issues that accompany pool repair (within the first 6 months certified CPO).
    • This job requires the ability to effectively respond to emergency situations surrounding aquatics
    • Must work well independently as well as with others
    Qualifications:
    • Associates degree or above.
    • Minimum two years of experience teaching swimming to youth and adults
    • WSI certification and CPO (within the first 6 months certified)
    • Current ARC Lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid.
    • Work schedule:
    • Total work week of 40 hours which includes:
    • 15-18 hours coaching per week
    • One evening per week as department supervisor.
    • Work week Wednesdays through Sundays.
    • Must have the ability to travel to several locations as but not limited to Bayside High School, Jamaica Hills High School, Tanenbaum Family Pool.

    SALARY: $48,000-$55,000 based on education and experience.
