- Bachelor's Degree required and an emphasis in non-profit, marketing, sales, communications, public relations, management, or other development-related fields is preferred.
- Prior fundraising or similar sales experience, particularly related to donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, public relations skills, and the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, community organizations, and more.
- Satisfactory criminal background investigation and a Child Abuse and Neglect screening is a condition of employment.
- Must have a valid MO driver's license, dependable vehicle, and a minimum acceptable motor vehicle liability insurance.

The Child Advocacy Center is seeking a Development Director to join its team of highly dedicated professionals who are mission-driven and committed to helping children and families.
The Development Director is a critical component of the CAC's leadership team who works to strengthen the capacity of the CAC by leading and implementing a donor-centric development plan that connects donor impact to the mission and values of the CAC.
The Development Director helps communicate the importance and impact of the Child Advocacy Center with the surrounding community and supports a culture of transparency and diligence.
The Development Director should be deeply passionate about creating a safe environment for children.Key Responsibilities include:
Takes a lead role in cultivating and soliciting major gift donors and leading sponsors.
Ensures stewardship activities maintain robust, long-term donor relations from an impact-driven, donor-centric lens.
Collaborates with leadership to align strategy and plan with program and service needs.

Founded in 1995, the Child Advocacy Center provides abused and neglected children in 14 counties across Southern Missouri with a safe place to talk about their experiences and begin their healing journey.
The team of professional advocates, forensic interviewers, and medical personnel work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to investigate allegations of child maltreatment and ensure the safety of children and their non-offending caregivers.
