The Project Director (PD) oversees business development, acts as a technical resource to the design team, and supervises the project management department. Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and effective team collaboration.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Applies technical expertise in ecological restoration and environmental permitting.
· Participates in leadership meetings and collaborates with other Directors.
· Performs other functions as directed by senior management.
Business Development:
· Ensures prompt response to project leads and attends initial client meetings.
· Collaborates on design plans and strategies within consulting contracts.
· Networks to secure new project opportunities and expand professional network.
Technical Design Specialist:
· Leads presentations on regulatory compliance and project technical aspects at regulatory review meetings (primarily local-level Conservation Commission public hearings).
· Supports design department in permit application preparation.
Supervises Project Management:
· Manages select high-profile clients directly and orchestrates project management coverage.
· Evaluates performance of project managers and oversees career advancement.
· Conducts site inspections to monitor progress, compliance, and quality assurance.
Requirements:
· Master's or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Studies, or related field.
· 5+ years' supervisory experience in environmental consulting.
· Expertise in presenting projects before regulatory compliance review boards.
· Knowledge of wetland protection regulations and landscape construction.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design software a plus.
· Valid Driver's License and ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up, ArcGIS, GPS.
· Familiarity with Sage or Timberline accounting or client relationship management software.
