    JOB SUMMARY

    This position applies the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating, and reporting to determine a management system's adequacies and deficiencies. Analyzes all processes of a management system and determines its degree of compliance to the criteria of established standards and requirements. Initially, audit duties will be limited to ISO 9001, or other ISO standards, until all actions needed to secure an IATF ADP number are completed. These actions must be completed within 18 months.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Plans and conducts management system audits to ensure that current practices are in line with established policies, procedures and systems to ensure effective implementation. Meet all experience requirements needed to enter the aerospace auditor accreditation process (4 years full-time in the last 15 years, including 2 years dedicated to Quality Assurance and or Quality Management activities in an automotive manufacturing organization meeting the applicability requirements of Rules 5th (i.e. automotive part supplier)).
    • SRI ISO 9001 Lead auditor, with at least 6 audits, three as Lead Auditor.
    • Direct work experience or training certificates for all tools (SPC, MSA, PFMEA, PPAP).
    • Complete all prerequisite modules in ADP. Complete 3rd Party IATF Auditor training and pass initial exams. Pass the follow up exams within 2 years to become full green.
    • Use SRI IATF audit forms to plan and execute audits in conformance with Rules 5th.
    • Assists the scheduling department to ensure audits are completed as planned.
    • Prepares Audit Plans, Audit Reports, and Corrective Action Response Reviews and communicates audit results and conclusions. Submits completed Audit Reports to designated SRI Customer Care Coordinator in a timely manner.
    • Follows up on audits to ensure Corrective Actions are effectively reported and appropriately closed.
    • Provides information and data to VP of Certification about issues and problems related to processes and systems.
    • Maintains all auditor credentials, as required.
    • Attends at least one SRI Technical Conference annually.
    • Conducts training as a lead auditor in various public training classes, when required.
    • Performs internal witness audits under the direction of the VP, Certification if selected.
    • Conduct Registration Reviews under the direction of VP, Certification.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Engineering/Technical Bachelors degree, with 4 years of appropriate practical work experience within a recognized scope of certification activity and Auditor experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Documented Auditor training and proficient knowledge of ISO 9001 or various other standards registered by SRI, including R20.41C.
    • Knowledge of recognized Statistical Process techniques.
    • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes and the internet.
    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
    • Proficient in technical writing skills.
    • Knowledge of ISO 19011, report content, accreditation rules & regulations, if selected as an Internal Witness Auditor.
    • Knowledge of R20.47 Procedure.
    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 50 pounds. Work requires regular physical strain such as long periods of driving and flying. Specific visions abilities require by the job include close distance, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Work environment: Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with regular exposure to shop elements such as very loud noise, moving parts, odor, dust, fumes, heat, cold or chemicals.
    • Personal Protective Equipment: The performance of this position regularly requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, steel toe shoes and hard hats.
