    JOB SUMMARYThis is a role to assist in providing staff support in an Outpatient environment


    Outpatient:
    This role may help answer phones, schedule appointments, and gather general information to register patients.
    RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Functions
    • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Swedish Medical Group.

    Duties:
    Demonstrates professional and customer service focused behavior at all times, including manner of communication, responsibility and appearance.

    Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patientsEnsuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and completeCreating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically in Epic, electronic medical record systemSafeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standardsAccurately, appropriately and efficiently schedules services, tests, procedures and appointments for multiple departments, adhering to specific department guidelines and protocols, ensuring service excellence at all times.

    Gathers complete and accurate patient type, demographic and billing information.
    Pre-registers patients in a timely and efficient manner.

    Advises patient of any insurance authorization and referral requirements and ensures timely transfer of registration information to ensure financial clearance and appropriate reimbursement.

    Screens patients making sure that they are at the right location and have been cleared to be testedAssist in inventory management to ensure clinics are stocked and organizedProvides general information about Swedish Medical Group physicians for patients who contact the physician referral service.

    Enables easy, convenient access to the services they need in a friendly, efficient and timely manner.

    Functions within Access Services as part of a team to provide superior service and satisfaction to all internal and external customers.

    Provide chaperone support during sensitive exams and proceduresTravel to off-site Swedish Medical Group locations as neededPerforms other duties as requested by the supervisor.


    QUALIFICATION/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:

    High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experienceLICENSE/CERTIFICATIONN/AMANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYN/AINTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTSDirect contact or phone contact with patients and medical staff.

    ENVIRONMENT.Wear an N95 mask / PAPR and other PPEWalking, bending, stooping, long periods of stationary standing, pushing, pulling, liftingMust be able to assist with occasional heavy lifting of 100+ pounds.
