    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license and 2 years of recent L&D experience.

    Responsibilities
    Position is in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
    Cares for pregnant patients 17 weeks gestation and beyond, including laboring and scheduled procedures
    Handles admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries including vaginal and C-section births
    Common equipment includes fetal monitors; documentation is done in Cerner and Fetalink
    Required to work three 12-hour day shifts per week
    One on-call shift required per week
    Candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
    Will be responsible for caring for females of childbearing age, including triaging and managing complicated cases
    May participate in pre-op preparations, external cephalic versions, and cerclage as needed
    Must comply with CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) requirements mandated by the position
    AHA certifications only are accepted
    No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered

    Requirements
    Active DC RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
    Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
    NRP and AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certifications required
    Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience in a US hospital required
    Experience with labor and postpartum care preferred
    Ability to provide two manager or supervisor references, including one from the most recent employer
    US Social Security Number required for consideration
    Experience with Cerner and Fetalink documentation systems preferred
