    This position is responsible for managing the total client experience from assisting in exams, to patient care and surgery, to patient check out. The position requires the ability to build relationships with clients and teammates through compassion, veterinary knowledge, and dependability. Duties include and are not limited to:

    • Performs all duties in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
    • Assists the doctors and veterinary technicians in medical, surgical and dental procedures and diagnostic testing.
    • Administers medications as directed by the doctor.
    • Assists in restraining pets when necessary
    • Safely handles pets for medical procedures.
    • Prepares specimens for clinical laboratory procedures; maintains file of lab test results and ensures that test results are recorded in patient records
    • Prepares medication for administration by clients at home.
    • Admits and discharges patients on the doctor's orders. Counsels clients on various aspects of animal care; explains dosage/purpose of medications; reinforces the proper care and procedures that should be followed at home; makes follow-up calls to clients
    • Understands usage and dosage for commonly used prescription drugs including heartworm preventative and prescription flea control products and can readily explain them to clients
    • Properly cleans all surgical materials after they are used; keeps the operating room stocked and prepared for surgery
    • Maintains an appropriate inventory of all drugs and medical supplies
    • Assists other staff members as required
    • Prepares invoices and estimates for clients and processes payments.
    • Schedules clients and patients in the appointment scheduler.
    • Communicates with clients in person, via telephone, text and email.
    • Performs other duties as directed

    Our part time opportunity ranges from 30-34 hours weekly. Your schedule includes evenings and Saturdays. These hours are shared by the team.
