Job summary
The Speech Therapist assesses, goal sets, and provides treatment for speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provides therapeutic management of speech, language, swallowing and hearing disorders including evaluation , treatment planning Initiates and conducts therapeutic interventions evaluates treatment efficacy modifies prescribed therapeutic interventions as needed Counsels educates patients families care givers Participates in department hospital wide performance improvement initiatives
- Recommends maintains cleans calibrates adjusts equipment instruments manufacturer instructions use hospital policy ensure safety integrity accuracy patient use Follows appropriate procedures notification removal nonfunctional unsafe equipment
