    You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) in the San Diego Detachment, Quality Assurance (QA) Division of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

    You will provide primary contractual and quality oversight of the Government contracted Ship building and repair efforts conducted by the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, and other such ship construction and repair efforts.

    You will maintain familiarity with a variety of requirements and specifications concerning shipboard Electrical and Mechanical systems and infrastructure.

    You will utilize specialized electronic databases to provide detailed and retrievable documentation of all quality and performance aspects directly observed.

    You will prepare and monitor surveillance plans, and sampling criteria, for the fabrication, installation, activation, testing and trials of numerous shipboard systems.

    You will plan and apply QA methods and techniques to audit/monitor the contractor's QA system and processes, waterfront and storage facilities, industrial safety, fire and security programs, and varied contractual personnel qualification programs.

    You will assess the ship's readiness to operate during acceptance trials, and provides assessment, and recommendations to the supervisor concerning delivery readiness, for the vessels under our purview.

    Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

    Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

    You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

    This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting quality assurance (QA) assessments, inspections, surveillance, or audits of contractor performance, processes, or operations to ensure compliance with established specifications or requirements in the development, repair, modernization, or construction of shipboard electrical or electronic systems for surface ships or submarines.
