Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join our Emergency Department team This role will be full time mid shift; Monday – Friday rotating weekends, 10.45am - 11pm Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety quality and patient experience We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C metro area and the nation The Emergency Medical Technician places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring while collecting documenting and reporting patient vital signs data Registers patients accurately efficiently and professionally to ensure database integrity and facilitate claims processing Requests prior electrocardiograms for Medical Director review as appropriate and follows medical standard operating procedures for patient intervention Provides concise documentation of all procedures and therapies in patients' medical records is expected and performs surgical preparation of wounds according to protocol Demonstrates correct stabilization immobilization of spine proper fitting splints extremities Demonstrates ability assess neurovascular status after splint application reports deviations Registered Nurse physician Assists with patient transport testing admission/discharge interfacility aeromedical policy Operating Unit Arranges interfacility transport freestanding departments Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies coordinates materials management minimize outdated stock Obtains ECG per physician order provides immediately upon completion Reviews orders related disease state monitors reports progress towards expected outcomes deviations Registered Nurse Follows computer system training guidelines obtain accurate demographic diagnosis insurance information May perform additional duties assigned Shift Mid Shift Full Time Three hour shifts Schedule Training Ideal candidate must attend week training Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Certification BLS EMTB active National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians NREMT current Virginia License/Certification Special Skills read write speak understand English Computer skills Preferred Qualifications EMT related experience preferred
