Job Title: Radiation Therapist

Job Summary

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves simulating patients, providing basic patient care and education.

Responsibilities

• Leads associates in the department and implements directives related to staffing levels based on service needs and volumes.
• Checks prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification; explains procedures to patients.
• Verifies treatment plans and documents treatment information.
• Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit.
• Completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program required.
• ARRT and RT(T) certifications in radiation therapy and current license in state of practice (if applicable).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Two years of experience required.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Moderate physical activity expected.
