    OverviewThe Finance and Administration Division of the Agency of Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join the Internal Audit Team.

    This is a temporary position based out of the Barre City Place office and may be eligible for telework or a flexible work schedule.

    The primary responsibility of this position will be to conduct subrecipient grant monitoring of Vermont municipalities.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    working closely with municipal personnel to gain an understanding of their business practices, internal controls, policies, and procedures related to grants management.

    It is expected through professional and clear communication, you will request specific financial documents for grant expenditures, review for accuracy, and produce a complete and accurate monitoring file.

    This position is considered an AOT Audit Specialist by the Department of Human Resources.

    Environmental FactorsWork is performed in standard office setting, though occasional travel may be required. Out of state travel may be expected.
    Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree or higher in accounting, business management, or related field. ORTwo (2) or more years of experience in financial operations, which includes auditing experience.
    Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in relevant field.
    Experience in a government audit role.
