    Description

    Hiring a Mental Health Counselor (LPC) to join a growing Primary Care facility in Houston, Texas that is dedicated to supporting and advocating for families & children. Relocation is offered for candidates not local to Houston.

    Overview:

    The role of the Spanish Bilingual Mental Health Counselor is to provide care to patients under the direction of the Director of Counseling. The typical workload includes 8 one-on-one patient visits per day.

    Job Duties:

    • Provides counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services to adults, children, and youth
    • Performs intakes, assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning development and implementation, and evaluation of progress using evidence-based counseling techniques and therapeutic approaches for mental health and behavioral health counseling
    • Offers trauma-informed assessment and treatment
    • Delivers individual, group, and family therapy modalities
    • Serves English and Spanish speaking populations comfortably and independently
    • Works in designated sites: counseling office, medical clinic, and school setting
    • Attends relevant trainings in evidence-based treatments
    • Takes part in the development and implementation of projects to deliver mental health services through community partnerships
    • Contributes to the development and implementation of behavioral health programs in collaboration with the medical and dental departments to enhance health outcomes of clinic patients
    • Prepares and conducts psycho-educational programs and presentations on relevant topics to inform and promote mental health in the community

    Qualifications, Education and Experience:

    • Bilingual - Spanish Requirement
    • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited College or University
    • Must be licensed for independent practice by their licensing board in the State of Texas (LPC or LCSW)
    • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Masters level clinician providing assessment and treatment to adults, children, and adolescents in individual, family, and group therapy modalities. Experience in using assessment tools to support diagnosis and treatment, creating treatment plans, evaluating progress, and planning for goal maintenance is essential.
