- Research and maintain current knowledge of relevant legal regulations and norms, and how these affect the relevant businesses
- Assist with drafting legal memos, contracts, and other legal documents
- Review and edit policies and other documents from client departments to ensure potential legal implications are addressed
- Recommend appropriate approval strategies and initiatives to minimize legal risk
- Perform other assigned duties and functions as necessary
- Minimum two (2) years' legal experience in a large law firm
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal skills
- Able to identify and analyze complex legal issues
- Self-motivated, thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Exceptional judgment and work ethic
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Federal clerkship experience
- Experience in contract negotiation and drafting
- Familiarity with maritime law
- Experience with OSHA, ADA, ABT, and environmental regulations
- JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
- Membership in the Florida State Bar in good standing or willingness and qualification to be registered in-house counsel
