    JOB DESCRIPTION: Respiratory Therapist

    JOB LOCATION: Voorhees Township

    FULL AND PART TIME AVAILABLE

    Employees are permitted to drive company vehicles home in order to handle on call emergencies.

    REPORTS TO: Site Manager/Regional Operations Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for performance of all assigned respiratory therapy duties and tasks. Responsible for administrative duties, contract services as assigned, and field tasks which include patient education, evaluation of oxygen set-ups and patient comprehension of prescribed oxygen services. Therapist must have experience servicing ventilator patients and be able to perform monthly ventilator checks per VA contract.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Perform all respiratory therapy visits to VA patients as directed per requirements of VA contracts. This will include an initial setup of home O2 patients, a 7 day follow up visits and an annual visits for all established home O2 patients. Therapist must also perform initial setup and monthly checkup of all ventilator dependent patients. Checkup will include documentation of ventilator status, backup ventilator status, circuit changes, and education to patient and family regarding the proper use, maintenance, and emergency protocol when using equipment.

    2. Complete all documentation related to telephone follow up calls to VA patients as directed per requirements of home office.

    3. Perform all respiratory therapy follow up home visits to VA patients as directed per requirements of VA contracts.

    4. Complete all documentation related to follow up home visits to VA patients as directed per requirements of home office.

    5. Forward all documentation related to patient follow ups to home office as per requirements of VA contracts and Eagle Home Medical Corp.

    6. Report any incidents involving patients, caregivers, and company equipment immediately and follow up with faxed incident report to home office.

    7. Report any suspected abuse and/or neglect involving patients, caregivers, or company equipment immediately and fax narrative descriptions of these events to home office.

    8. Perform any and all other respiratory therapy related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School Diploma, Respiratory Therapy Degree, NBRC certification and state licensure as indicated.
