    Job Title: Project Engineer

    Reporting To: Manager, Electrical Engrg.

    Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY

    The Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

    About the Job:

    As a Project Engineer in Moog's Aircraft Electrical Engineering Group, you will be one of the main points of contact for communications with Moog's customers. The candidate will work to meet the quality (customer requirements), schedule and cost for the program. The Project Engineer is a key contributor to coordinating the analysis, conceptual design, development, and integration of electronic hardware used on military aircraft.

    Your Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Generation of Proposals: For new aircraft platforms in accordance with customer requirements, responsible for technical concept generation and requirement compliance.
    • Preparation of Proposal Designs: Be a key contributor to the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical volume write ups.
    • Representation of Moog: Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
    • Program Management: Maintain oversight of technical, cost and schedule performance for development programs.
    • Validation of Conceptual Solutions: Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
    • Documentation: Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
    • Technical Leadership: Set the direction for the technical engineering team, coordinate a cross-functional team.
    • Proposal Volume Development: Proposal volume development and costing support for business unit.
    • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to support customer meetings and business development needs.
    • Previous Experience: Previous experience with Military / Aerospace programs and products.

    Requirements:

    • Education: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent coursework) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the development of high reliability electronics and electronics assemblies.
    • Aptitude: Aptitude for creative synthesis, and the ability to utilize and quickly administer advanced design and/or analysis techniques.
    • Familiarity: Familiarity in Military / Aerospace programs and products.
    • Design Life Cycle: Familiarity with the design life cycle including design, qualification, and certification of electronics for aircraft applications.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Education: MS Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent coursework) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the development of high reliability electronics and electronics assemblies.
    • Teamwork: Exposure to multi-discipline engineering teams (digital, mechanical, power, motor...etc).
    • Electronics Specifications: Competency with various electronics military specifications.
    • Aerospace Industry: Practical experience in electric components / methodologies and standards associated with the aerospace industry.
    • Power Electronics: Exposure to power electronics a plus.
