Sign-on Bonus: $5,000.00
JOB SUMMARY
Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. The MLT will perform routine clinical laboratory tests done in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology and coagulation.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services and/or Medical Technologist (MT).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High School Diploma or GED required. Some college training or Associate degree preferred.
Work Experience
Must have one (1) year MLT work experience.
License/Certification
Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
Basic Life Support (BLS),
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS),
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI),

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of centrifuges and other laboratory services equipment
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Good judgment to plan, organize and accomplish goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators
Keeps the laboratory and all equipment clean
Prepares the laboratory equipment and specimens for tests
Collects patient's body fluids for lab test and analysis
Analyzes and records test results in order to issue reports that utilize graphs, charts, and narratives
Performs blood counts and blood tests for transfusion purposes
Assists medical laboratory technologists in less complex laboratory tests and procedures
OTHER DUTIES
May perform other related duties as required.

Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to see with corrective eye wear
Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases
Able to handle emergency and/or crisis situations
May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary
Transferring, repositioning patients.
Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching for patient care functions.
Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
