    Job Description:


    The Internal Auditor plays a critical role in our clients O&G mining company, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's success by conducting independent assessments of operational and financial activities.

    The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the oil and gas industry.


    Responsibilities:

    Audit Planning and Execution:


    Develop risk-based audit plans and programs to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Conduct audits of various operational and financial processes, including transportation, storage, and marketing activities.

    Perform fieldwork, including interviews, documentation reviews, and testing of controls.


    Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    Identify and evaluate key business risks and control deficiencies.

    Recommend practical solutions to mitigate risks and enhance internal controls.

    Monitor the implementation of remediation plans and track progress towards resolution.


    Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
    Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including FERC regulations and environmental requirements.

    Prepare audit findings and reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.

    Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.


    Process Improvement and Efficiency:
    Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement recommendations and streamline operations.

    Drive initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of internal audit processes.


    Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
    Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.

    Build and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders.

    Provide guidance and support to business units on internal control matters and best practices.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CIA, CISA, or CPA certification preferred.

    2+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or related roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

    Solid understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and auditing standards.

    Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with experience in using audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA).

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    Willingness to travel to various company locations as needed.
