    About the Job:
    To provide assess, document and deliver behavioral support services for individuals with disabilities living in the community and provide training for these individuals and support staff to enable these individuals to reach their highest levels of independence in the community. Will perform all duties necessary to meet state approved objectives, including the requirement that the employee cooperate with the licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigation. Will address any issues regarding the health, safety and/or welfare of the above mentioned individuals in cooperation with Allies, Inc. Program Manager, Allies, Inc. Administrative staff and/or Case Management entities, as applicable. Will adhere to the most recent revisions of Allies, Inc. and the State of New Jersey policy and procedure including, but not limited to The Allies, Inc. Code of Ethics, The Allies, Inc. Operational Manual and Employee Handbook (including the Investigations Policy and Procedure), Department of Children and Families Division of Children's System of Care, Office of Licensing and/or any other relevant policy and procedure.
    Responsibilites:

    • Assess behavioral needs using functional behavioral assessments, develop and implement appropriate plan of interventions, assess and modify plan in response to changing behavioral health needs of individuals served.
    • Provide hands-on and administrative training effectively by supervising the general behavioral needs of each individual served while promoting a consumer-oriented approach to behavioral supports.
    • Interact with other support staff and administration to ensure continuity, proper accurate timely documentation and coordination of care.
    • Document information and interventions in accordance with DCF, Medicaid and ALLIES, INC. requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisor, other support staff, youth, and families and outside agencies as appropriate. Participate in client-centered treatment team meetings and staff meetings as assigned.
    • Provide training for individuals served in the areas of managing behavioral needs and conduct on-going training for staff as directed.
    • Provide training for support staff on specific behavioral support methods and plans related to the specific needs of the individuals served.
    • Review the implementation of approved treatment plans/programs.
    • Respond to crises and provide interventions as needed, including but not limited to hands-on restraints if required.
    • Review pertinent records of individuals on a need to know basis, while following HIPAA (Health Information Portability Accountability Act of 1996) guidelines.
    • Recommend policies and procedures on behavioral support/intervention/planning as new methods become available.
    • Participate in appropriate professional growth and continuing education opportunities.
    • Works with each individual's treatment team, IDT and all other interested parties to build self-esteem and social capitol for each individual served.
    • Be on-call as directed by agency administration.
    Q ualifications:
    Education/Experience:
    • Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Sociology, Guidance and counseling, social work, or other behavioral sciences program.
    • At least one year of experience working in therapeutic treatment programs for children with mentally illness and/or developmental disabilities involving behavior modification programs.
    • BCBA required
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
    • Ability to work a flexible full-time work week as directed by your supervisor to meet the needs of the program and youth in our care.
    • Able to physically assist or lift an individual weighing at least 50 lbs.
    • Drivers' License valid in the state of New Jersey.
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English and direct/respond to client's needs
    Other:
    • The ability to effectively deliver behavioral services to individuals, families and groups.
    • The ability to write and verbally communicate behavioral plans, interventions and outcomes to service recipients and team members.
    • The ability to safely and effectively execute all personal control and defensive techniques taught using the CPI curriculum.
    • The ability to exercise good judgment and use common sense.
    • The ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
    • Valid unrestricted driver license with good driving record T
    • The ability to communicate clearly and objectively in writing.
    • Ability to transfer and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to Successful a Criminal Background Check
    • Ability to Attend Up to Ten Days (~10am to 5pm) of Paid Training in Hamilton, NJ
    Competencies:
    The position also requires the full use of good judgment and common sense during daily affairs, whether at or away from the residence. Professional communication and appropriate language, whether written or oral, is essential in everyday activities. This communication may be with any person involved in the life of the individuals living in the home. Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance and supports for an individual. On certain occasions it may be necessary for you to work at a different location other than your home base - this is a requirement of your employment.
