    Position Summary/Job Duties:
    • $20/hr
    • Southwest side of Madison, between Verona and Fitchburg, on a quiet cul-de-sac
    • Seminole Pool membership
    • Approximately 6.5 hrs/day, M-F (preferred start/end times of 8:00-2:30 or 8:30-3:00)
    • Preferred start/end dates of June 10 - August 16, or later in August if available; no childcare needed the weeks of July 1-5 and July 22-26
    • Clean driving record is a must because we would like to add the nanny/sitter to our auto insurance policy so they can regularly use our vehicle to transport the kids during the day (but would need own transportation to and from our house each day)
    • The kids are not over-scheduled, so nanny/sitter would usually have the freedom to choose or plan the day's activities (e.g., pool, Verona library, parks, playing at home)
    • 3 girls: 9, 6, and 4 years old.
      • They get along really well, are helpful to one another, and play well together despite the age differences.
      • They have had occassional sitters before (who have always readily returned), but they otherwise have always attended daycare and summer camp. They are requesting a nanny this summer so that they can have more free play, time with each other, and friends in the neighborhood (2 of their friends on our street also have a nanny this summer and the same pool membership).
      • They enjoy imaginary play, playing in the yard, pools, parks, the trampoline and swing set, riding bikes, sprinklers, water balloons, playing soccer and other sports in the yard, art/painting/drawing/crafts, reading, cooking/preparing meals/baking, painting nails, dressing up, having their hair done, board games and card games - almost anything The youngest still takes a good nap almost daily by her own choice and can sleep anywhere if out and about. They are not big into video games or tablets but occassionally play (they have not even charged their tablets since the batteries died a month ago during a long drive).
      • We are looking for, and believe they would respond well to, a summer nanny/sitter who engages with them similar to how a teacher would - teaching and engaging them in meal prep and clean up and daily tasks, helping them develop good habits and organizational skills at home, and also joining them in some activities or playing with the odd-one-out who doesn't want to do what the other two are doing.
    • The mom works from home M-F and the dad works from home 2 days/wk and in the office 3. We both work as attorneys for Wisconsin state agencies and, when working from home, we work away from the main areas of the house and prefer to be out-of-sight--out-of-mind, but we can certainly help if in a pinch or if something serious happens.
