Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
DEPARTMENT:
Emergency Medical Services
HOURS:
75 FTE (60 hours per pay period) rotating days/nights including weekends and holidays
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The fundamental responsibilityof the EMT-B is to conserve life, to alleviate suffering, to promote health, to do no harm and to encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care.
The standard of practice of the EMT-B shall be in accordance with the utmostcurrent edition "Emergency Medical Technician:
National Standard Curriculum
"EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some advanced education preferred.
Possess a valid State Driver's LicenseCurrent stateor National RegistryEMT-B CertificationDriving record in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability.
SKILL(S):
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
EXPERIENCE:
Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired
