Must Haves
STEM Bachelor's + 3+ years experience
Background in mission avionics systems with experience in at least two of the following domains:
Avionics communications (MIL/Civil SATCOM, radios, datalinks)
Navigation (IFF, MIL GPS/SAASM, Link 713/718)
Data networks (Link 16, point-to-point, bus architectures, secure networks)
Mission computing (Flight Management, AFMC/Advanced Flight Management Computers)
Sensors/defensive systems (radar/sensor integration, defensive suites)
Experience applying RF engineering principles (as applicable to subsystem)
Experience troubleshooting avionics equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems
Active or Interim Secret clearance OR ability to obtain
Plusses (Specialization Differentiators)
Candidates may specialize in one primary area; depth in any of the following is a strong plus:
Communications:
MIL SATCOM/Civil SATCOM, radios, crypto, waveform integration, antenna/RF chain performance
Navigation:
IFF, MIL GPS/SAASM, Link 713/718, PNT, airworthiness impacts
Data Networks:
Link 16, secure networks, bus architecture (e.g., 1553/ARINC/ethernet-based), routing/switching concepts
Mission Computing:
Flight management, AFMC, mission computer integration, SW/HW interface management
Radar/Sensors/Defensive Systems:
sensor integration, defensive systems, EW interfaces, performance verification
Aircraft/aviation experience (production/flightline/lab)
Integration & test experience in lab, system integration rigs, and/or flight test support
Requirements development/verification (V&V), certification artifacts, RCCA/FRACAS experience
Day to Day
This role supports engineering design, integration, test, certification, and hardware/software management for assigned mission systems avionics sub-systems. Engineers may be aligned to a specialty area but will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure end-to-end integration.
Position Responsibilities
Support the design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of mission avionics systems to ensure seamless integration with software and higher-level systems/platforms
Support the design, development, validation, and verification of system-level requirements
Assist in the development of test plans and procedures supporting certification activities
Coordinate system-level integration for mission avionics hardware and software
Support definition and execution of critical tests to validate performance against requirements
Provide technical management of relevant aspects of critical suppliers and Boeing software team members to ensure compliance with design requirements across the product lifecycle (proposal → development → production → in-service support, lab + flight testing)
Gather information to support proposal development and conduct trade studies for future upgrades/new business
Coordinate and ensure FAA/military certification and Boeing airworthiness activities for mission avionics systems/components
Coordinate with specialty engineering IPTs (safety, EMI/EMC, cybersecurity)
Provide troubleshooting support for labs and aircraft when technical issues occur
Conduct investigations and Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA)
Compensation:
$60/hr to $70/hr/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
