- Ask and record patients symptoms and rely information to doctor
- Perform preliminary exams and tests on patients eyes
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment
- Support the ophthalmologist during eye surgeries and procedures
- Administer medication and topical treatments to patients eyes
- Instructing patients on care and usage of corrective lenses
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Active Certified Ophthalmic Assistant(COA) Certification/Certified Ophthalmic Tech (COT) preferred
- BLS Certification Required
- At least 1-year experience as an ophthalmic assistant preferred

The Ophthalmic Tech delivers care for patients with ophthalmic conditions or needs across their life span, and assesses and documents the effects of care. Under the supervision of the ophthalmologist and clinic manager, performs both basic and advanced ophthalmic exam techniques. This includes specialized testing. Responsible for teaching and instruction to other clinic staff, medical students and residents. Provides general clinical support functions. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, medical and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for practice. *This is a Monday-Friday position from 8:00am-4:30pm*
