    Job Summary

    The Pharmacy Assistant/Technician provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

    • Procure, prepare, and distribute medications per physician orders.
    • Filling physician orders medication carts surgical kits floor stock emergency drug containers preparing sterile products IV admixtures chemotherapy as directed by Pharmacy Director delivering medications supplies patient care areas timely manner assist ordering receiving unpacking storing medications supplies rotating stock prevent waste repackage bulk medications unit doses established policies procedures enter medication orders charges credits into pharmacy computer system accurately maintain required documentation records logs reports identify removing outdated unusable medications maintain clean organized safe work environments answer phones courteously direct inquiries appropriately provide support staff patients visitors participate staff meetings training competency assessments adhere hospital departmental policies confidentiality HIPAA infection control risk management regulatory compliance
