- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify communication disorders in students.
- Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by Speech-Language Pathologists to address students' speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, both in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective communication and ensure consistency in intervention strategies across educational settings.
- Assist in the development of appropriate materials and resources for speech and language therapy sessions, tailored to individual student needs and goals.
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as required by school policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and relevant state licensing boards.
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with communication disorders preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between school sites may be required.
