- Work collaboratively with internal and external advisory groups to articulate, develop, and execute a strategic plan that will continue to elevate the place of UNG as a leader in the field of cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with senior levels of leadership across multiple universities in the SMC Coalition.
- Recruit and mentor Cyber Leader development Program students and develop and execute experiential opportunities to prepare students for DoD cyber careers.
- Proactively maintain strong existing relationships with the DOD and NSA, and programs across UNG, as well as establish and/or grow relationships with additional government agencies and other units across UNG.
- Manage complex initiatives involving multidisciplinary teams.
- Teach undergraduate, graduate, and/or executive education courses related to cyber security, as needed.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
- Have the ability to conduct research, develop experiential opportunities, and lead project groups that can include faculty, students, and staff.
- Ability to work at senior levels of leadership across multiple Universities.
- Ability to articulate a coherent plan to manage a complex program or agenda of research or scholarship and to identify potential funding sources, both governmental and industry.
- An earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Systems or closely related field and/or commensurate experience.
- Experience in obtaining, managing, and successfully completing contract and grant funded projects.
- Because this position is DoD funded, the successful applicant must be a US citizen or a permanent resident.
- Secret or TS/SCI Clearance, preferred
- Experience either in applied cybersecurity in defense/national security or in the role of project manager on contracts or PI or Co-PI on research funded projects is preferred.

Job Summary
The Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University of North Georgia is seeking a Director for the Institute for Cyber Operations, a Senior Military College DOD funded Cyber Institute. The Director will have two primary roles: (1) provide leadership to continue the development of the campus-wide cyber education ecosystem on campus with outreach into the region served by the University of North Georgia and (2) serve as the UNG lead for the Senior Military Colleges (SMC) Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Institutes grant program, as well as the University liaison to the Cyber NCAE.
