Job Description:

Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Intelligence Developer to be part of our dynamic team.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Derivco, you will take a lead role in transforming complex data into strategic insights that drive business decisions.

This position involves extensive data analysis, including gathering, documenting, and analyzing business and system requirements to ensure they align with our strategies.

You will be pivotal in planning, designing, and implementing innovative BI solutions that support the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive requirements analysis, planning, and design for large, complex projects or programs, ensuring alignment with department and business strategies.

Gather, document, influence, and analyze both business and system requirements, ensuring their feasibility and validity.
Design software to meet functional, performance, and security requirements based on analyzed needs.
Manage BI development projects from inception to closure, ensuring timely delivery within scope and alignment with solution requirements.
Explore data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies, and trends to report insights and predict future trends to stakeholders.
Develop and implement BI solutions, building structures for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to facilitate effective reporting.

Utilize advanced BI technologies (e.g., DAX, Nifi, cloud technologies, Databricks) to design, develop, and test BI products such as data warehouses, tools, reports, and dashboards.

Create operational implementation plans for BI products or services, driving and configuring BI solutions' deployment according to DevOps principles.
Maintain and review comprehensive documentation for all BI developments to ensure knowledge transfer and record-keeping.
Ensure compliance with data protection principles through configuring and testing security and access controls on BI solutions.
Lead quality assurance efforts, reviewing developed solutions to maintain high-quality standards and leading solution reviews to enhance team capabilities.
Provide production support, troubleshooting BI tools, systems, and software to resolve complex issues.

Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, keeping them informed about BI tool developments and conducting training to maximize tool utilization and data analysis capabilities.

Monitor performance metrics and stakeholder feedback to identify and implement initiatives that enhance stakeholder adoption and value.

Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a Business Intelligence Analyst role or similar position.
Expertise in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and other analytics and visualization tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a thorough attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
