- Utilizes CAD Cam computer programs to prepare final designs of proposed drawings; checking detail, dimension of parts, specific material to be used, verifies the relationship of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the structure. Generates 3D CAD solid models using AutoCAD Mechanical or similar application. Designs products that can be used in a concurrent engineering environment with the internal design team and customers.
- Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or sales orders. Directly interfaces with end-users and truck manufacturers in development of plastic bodies and associated components.
- Reviews sales orders to determine critical dimensions and features of the design of products to be manufactured. Experience using FEA tools such as ANSYS linear static structural analysis, or similar systems to optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, performance, and reliability.
