    Description
    Job Summary: The applicant will be expected to provide anesthesia services as scheduled. This will be arranged as a day shift position. This shift contemplates being ready to go to the room with your first patient at 7 am and being done by 3 pm, If you work or cover a service past 3 pm, you will receive additional compensation. These anesthesia services may include: neuraxial anesthesia, general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care. The service lines which anesthesia is provided to include: general surgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT, urology, GYN surgery, gastroenterology, interventional cardiology, and thoracic surgery. There are some children that require surgery, and there are currently no brain, spine or heart surgery performed.

    Job Duties:
    • Performs preoperative history and physician examinations
    • Perform post-operative evaluations
    • Creates plan for anesthesia to be delivered
    • Perform general, regional, neuraxial anesthesia
    • Cover shift or call assignments as assigned
    • Place peripheral IVs as needed
    • Perform emergent intubations as needed
    • Perform epidural blood patches as necessary
    • Assist with making CRNA assignments for rooms to promote operational efficiency
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision

    1. Education: DNP or MSN
    2. Training and Experience: Graduated from CRNA training program and certified via NBCRNA
    3. Job Knowledge: General Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, Neuraxial Anesthesia, Monitored Anesthesia Care, Preoperative evaluation and management.
    Essentials:
    1. Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
    2. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
    Physical Demands: Job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment; and lifting or pushing of up to 50 pounds. The individual must be able to bend over to perform certain duties, e.g., check chest tube drainage, check urinary output, etc. The individual must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required.
