    Job Description/Duties:

  • Provides operations support in a manufacturing unit and functions as the area expert for equipment and processes.
  • Interfaces with operators to troubleshoot or resolve equipment and operation problems as they arise.
  • Designs and implements manufacturing processes for new and existing equipment based on customer requirements.
  • Develops and maintains operating procedures as well as technical documents for area processes and equipment.
  • Implements process improvements for safety and efficiency.
  • Assists Engineering personnel with data analysis and submits documents for approval of new or modified processes.
  • Facilitates communication between operators, management, maintenance, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops technical specifications for new hardware and software procurements or development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus two (2) years of relevant experience is required. Internal candidates with a Physics Degree who are already on the Engineering Ladder are also eligible.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated technical and critical thinking skills.
  • A strong focus on Safety and Quality is required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with hourly and salary personnel is required.
  • Must have demonstrated superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
