    As the Deputy Agency Readiness Director, you will be the key architect in supporting the transformative vision of the One Washington program, focused on enhancing the state's enterprise capabilities in finance, procurement, budgeting, and human capital management systems.

    You will be instrumental in facilitating the transition from outdated, manual operations to a streamlined, digital ecosystem, marking a significant leap in efficiency and accessibility akin to the evolution from dial-up to smartphone technology.

    The Deputy Agency Readiness Director demands unique combination of strategic foresight, policy understanding, and operational insight. You'll serve as a critical bridge between the Agency Readiness Team Director, OneWA leadership, and the state's enterprise agencies.

    The primary mission is to ensure the seamless integration of business and technology considerations into the system's architecture and back to the agencies understanding to help ensure agency readiness, guaranteeing that the transformation not only meets but exceeds the functional and strategic needs of the state's agencies and their stakeholders.


    Note:

    This is a hybrid position where you have the option to work from home; however, you must also be available to come in person (to Olympia) when needed for team meetings, and to interpret in-person per staff requests.

    What you'll do:

    Support of Strategic ART Leadership in ERP Transformation:

    • Coordinate with the ART Director's strategic vision, lead and guide the internal strategic agency readiness direction of the Enterprise Readiness Plan (ERP) transformation across finance, procurement, budgeting, and human capital management systems, ensuring alignment with the One Washington program's vision.
    • Serve as a visionary architect to transition from outdated, manual operations to a streamlined, digital ecosystem, significantly enhancing efficiency and accessibility.
    • Develop and support comprehensive agency readiness strategies from the technical to business lens. These strategies are designed to prepare each agency for the upcoming changes, ensuring that staff at all levels understand how their roles and workflows will evolve with the new system.
    • Translate complex technical jargon into accessible language, creating training materials, and conducting readiness workshops that are tailored to the unique context of each agency.

    Bridge-Building Between Stakeholders:

    • Act as a critical liaison between the Agency Readiness Team Director, OneWA leadership, and enterprise agencies, ensuring cohesive and strategic integration of business and technology.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders to align project objectives with the state's operational and strategic needs.
    • Agency Readiness and Transition Development
    • Develop and support comprehensive readiness strategies to prepare state agencies for the transition to new systems, encompassing both technological and operational changes.

    Technical and Operational Insight:

    • Utilize deep understanding of ERP system nuances to champion the integration of technical and operational requirements within the program's framework.
    • Address and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring the ERP system is designed to meet the evolving needs of state government operations.

    Required Qualifications:

    • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, organizational change management or program management, with a strong emphasis on experience in large-scale IT projects or ERP implementations. This includes demonstrated experience in leading change management initiatives, agency readiness, or organizational transformation projects within large and complex organizations, preferably in the public sector.
    Or


    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field is required and two (2) years of Enterprise Readiness Experience Significant professional experience in organizational change management, project or program management, particularly in IT or ERP system implementations, may be considered in lieu of the 4-year degree requirement.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Beyond the minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferred candidates will have extensive experience in managing ERP implementations within the public sector or similarly complex environments. Experience in a leadership role during a major organizational transformation, with proven success in navigating the challenges of changing technology and business processes, is highly desirable.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
    • Certifications in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci ADKAR).
    • Relevant ERP system certifications, particularly in the system being implemented (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
